Close to loaded but I did leave off the navi package as I can count on one hand the times I actually used it in my Altima. I really can't wait for this to get here! Blue slate (dark blue) with black interior.

Nice purchase. My dad managed to get his hand on a G37S somehow (has loads of debt) and it's a really good car. The only thing I hate about it is the massive amount of engine braking and the suspension being too firm for my liking. Other than that, great car.

Are you getting the auto or manual one?

Unfortunately, due to the nature of how I got the vehicle (yeah I've decided to be somewhat vague here) I had to choose from a list... none on that list were M/T. :( Oh well, at least the MY09 has a 7A/T as opposed to the 5A/T (I think it was a 5?) I had in my MY08 G35 Sedan.

This one does have the sports package/premium package/spoiler though so I'll live. It will be nice to get back to a car with some muscle... currently driving a 4 cyl Altima Sedan.

Congrats on the nice car!

A couple months back, I was looking at the G37 or the 370Z. I ended up with the Z because I really didn't need the back seat and I liked that it was a little lighter.

It was a tough decision though, because both cars are great...You will definitely enjoy it a lot. :)

Quoted directly from the Jalopnik comments page

Automobiles, for the petrolhead and even to some of the uninitiated, are so much more than just objects. I've delved into the psyche before when comparing the love and fondness for certain cars over others to the love and fondness for certain women over others.

It's true that cars are, in the strictest sense, mere objects. They are inanimate unless coaxed into motion by a human. They are transportation appliances unless their bodies are sculpted and engines cast to not be merely a device to get you from point A to point B.

They are a waste of money since they rarely gain in value and those that do cost their owners more in maintenance than they can generally make back during a sale. But we still lust for them.

Against all logic. Against everything you learn in even the most basic of economics classes. Against any semblance of sanity. We lust for them.

We want to be the one that turns the key and presses the accelerator to make the inanimate animate. We want to be the one that sees the form over the function and to feel the energy from a perfectly tuned, raucous engine unfit for "daily driver" duty. We want to be the one who goes poor so that he (or she) can own that perfect specimen of an automobile.

That perfect specimen is different for each of us. But, when someone tells you he (or she) bought their dream car -- no matter what it is -- we can understand. And we are jealous of them, even if we disagree with their choice of dreams.

I finally bought a low end GPS this weekend. I never thought I needed one, but it's like crack, I think; you were fine without it but once you have it you're stuck. I really like it. I'd be hard-pressed to pay for in-car, though, especially since in four years that nav will feel so dated and be mostly irreplaceable.

I agree, automakers want way too much for in-dash units. When we bought my wife's Odyssey, they wanted $2K+ for the nav/DVD combo. We got a Garmin and four headrest DVD players (the cheapos, not integrated) for well under $500. Plus we can easily take the Garmin into another vehicle if desired, and often take the DVD players into the house/motel on trips (they have AC adapters).

And OP, I'm jealous, I love the 370Z.

I'd love a 370Z one of these days. Those cars are amazing. I'll try to throw up some pics by this weekend though I'm sure you all have already seen plenty of G37 Coupes floating around by now. :p

Congrats! My brother has one and I had a chance to test drive the piss out of it. Reasonably roomy for a coupe and the engine is oh so sweet and responsive. My only gripe is that the suspension movement front/rear (as in diving during braking or lifting when accelerating) is too much for my tastes. Feels almost as good as my BMW but the BMW still wins for comfort and quietness for a sport suspension setup with 18" RFT.

Congrats... I had considered the G37S (I like the exterior styling), but it lost out in favor of the BMW. Somehow the angular styling of the interior didn't really gel with me, and the car felt like it didn't have much power (I was coming from a GTO).

Where did you get your financing from? I remember the thread that you had created about getting one.

I went with PenFed. Great service and low 3.99% for 60 months. My credit union was 5.25% for 60 months and needed to see the car.

Nice car, these new G37's are awesome. I'd love to have one here especially an AWD model for the winter months. And wow you guys got some really good financing rates.

Good cars but cost a bunch. Fortunately I only owe 11k on mine which I hope to pay off within 2 years.
The thing I really like about the car besides the performance is the voice activated GPS/Phone etc. The Ipod integration is pretty awesome too. The center console has a special jack for the ipod inside and I have that plugged in. I select all the songs on the screen (or use the steering buttons).
