I'm not a big picture taker, but there are times when I need to take pics and I dont have a camera. So I've been looking at a lot of digital camera's and the Powershot A75 caught my eye. 3.2 MP is pretty decent and it has a 3X optical zoom. I think it will be more than sufficient for my current uses, and it should give me good results if I want to get more into 'photography'.

Good camera,review here .

You`ll have no problems getting photo quality 10"x8" prints, also I recommend a large CF card and decent "AA" rechargeable batteries like NiMH 2400mAh .

I think there were a couple of BF deals for that camera
You may want to check them out and see if feasilble to pricematch or return and rebuy

My girlfriend and dad and I have the A70, A60, and A80, respectively. My dad and girlfriend both use 2000 mAh Rayovac IC3 batteries (charge in 15 minutes when dead). You can get 4 batteries and charger @ Sam's for around $30 or so. I use some old 1800 mAh PowerEX NiMh batteries bought from thomas-distributing.com and they also work well. These were a bit more expensive when I bought them, but that was almost 3 years ago. They're likely cheaper now. Battery life is very rarely a problem with these cameras.
