i just ordered a 1.6a from newegg.com and a Giga Byte GA-8SRX. the total only came to $228, and since i sold my athlon, motherboard and heatsink for $210 i almost got this for free! the stuff should arrive on monday, and i can't wait! w00t! hopefully i'll have a nice, quiet, cool running 2.25+ system 😀.

That board is nice but it does not have a clear cmos jumper! I had stable 145 fsb with it and mushkin high performance ram.

i know about the lack of the cmos jumper 😀. i believe that you hold the insert key while booting to go to the default bios. i can always just remove the battery for a few minutes, if necessary. i'm just amazed at how cheap this board is, considering that it is from a top flight manufacturer.

"Top End" manufacturers have "Value" boards too, you know? 🙂.

It's called competing in different segments of the market 🙂.

Or in more real life terms - not putting all your eggs into one basket 🙂.

the 8SRX really isn't a value board. it is the same as the top end giga byte 645 board, just without the RAID controller. it has the same place in giga bytes line that the non raid p4b266 has in asus' repective line.
