Just opened the door and slipped - ripped off half my toenail

Well doesn't this just suck. I was opening up the door to the garage and slipped, sending my foot under the door and tearing my big toenail halfway off. Ouch.

I'm not really sure what to do at this point, just rinse it off and stick my whole toe in a bandaid? The bleeding has slowed, but its still going a bit.

Great. This should bode well for my planned hike on Mt Rainer in two weeks

Run around and cuss at the top of your lungs. It helps...then bandage it up and continue with your day.
You KNOW that every time you turn around, you'll be bumping it, smashing it, someone will step on it...

A pic where my big toe got into a fight with my basement door...peeled the toe nail all the way back and was barely hanging on. I went to the doctor and they stitched it back on, said it would grow back in better. They were actually right it's about 8 months later and I just had to trim the nail for the first time a couple weeks ago.
