just lost my job to out sourcing

I work for SprintPCS as a trouble specialist in chicago and I went to work today and the VC of the compney was there with a big annocement ..... the are closing the center on Aug 3 and moving 1100 positions to India ... people in my field make $22+ an hour and the the people in India will make less than $2 per HR ..... been with Sprint for 3 1/2 years and we are all getting the shaft .... managers and all .... I am very capable of getting a new job but the way me and my fellow workers are being treated is driving me nuts ...... thank U GW ...... fu*k fighting over oil and take care of the Tax Payers and the citizens of this fair land.... I will not vote for GW...... I am a 2nd generation immigrant and belive in american way of life ..... it pisses me off when people have anti american views ...... thats my rant for today.
 
Ouch, I'm sorry to hear it 🙁 Personally if I can help it I don't buy anything from companies who outsource or have otherwise shady ethics, though of course there are times when it's not possible. Wish more people would do the same 🙁
 
Fask India. Every time I call Dell Tech support I have to ask "Can I speak with someone that speaks AMERICAN as their first language?". Thanx Dell for adding another 30min wait to my Support Calls.

The reason behind this is that I had to restate my "Express" service code 4 flabbing times before they figured it out. After that I didn't want to deal with them.

A couple years ago (2001) I visited England (And various other countries). I can't remember how many times I said "HuH", "Could you repeat that", "i love you, no". OK that last one was a joke. But seriously..... Even using Alpha Numerics doesn't work with these People "P, as in PAUL".... "So that's B as in Ball." "NO DUMB AS$!"

I went to india, if the idiots would just hire some decent people with experiance in the theatre (not that shiat they call bollywood, thats not theatre) get some real teachers, then they would loose the accent a lot better. Out sourcing is not bad, its good for other countries, and its good for the economy there. Each job they send to places like India end up meaning another 2 jobs created.

How funny that America's commercial imperialism has come to bite itself in the ass. Corporations are sovereign and will go whevereve they can benefit. Changing the world to make it like us, has only opened doors for other places of business. Wake up, you fools! We in America have lived on borrowed time. The gig is up. Tech support is no longer a $22 an hour job. That's reality.

Either way, in the long run, labor intensive sectors that have artificially inflated wages (like yours) will eventually be displaced by lower-priced labor from elsewhere in the world. This is an inevitable, natural process of industrial growth.

Amen. I'm surprised that you actually thought you'd continue to get $22 an hour for what you were doing.

Tell me about it dude! Dad calls Comcast, gets yelled at because the dumbass on the other line cant understand/speak proper English and thinks my dad insulted him, lol. Then I call Microshaft to activate my installation and I get some guy that cant even read the numbers to me right and I end up having to ask him 3 times to repeat the activation code.
