meh, not bad but our new house was appriased at 1.7 million and we only paid 1.3 for it.

My PMs are full so to answer your question no i can't get cable yet either! Damnation.

I had never really thoguht of a variable rate but I suppose it could have been a thought...really though we do plan on staying here for a decade if I had to guess and by the time the first rate was out I am guessing that interest rates will be pretty high so the house we got end of june we have a 5.875 lock in over 30 years which ain't bad. Bad is the PMI, but until we get some cashola together we'll keep paying that crap!

You guys like living in Birmingham? I've been there a couple of times for business. Went to the Norcross Clinic. That area is pretty scary . . . :Q

You've got to be kidding me? I can't believe that subdivision doesn't have broadband. My house is in bumcfvck Southwestern Jefferson and I can get DSL or Cable modem. Did they give you any dates when it will be available?

I was thinking it would be more, but I am getting a fixed rate on a 5/1 year ARM. Rate is fixed for 5 years and then you have to refinance after 5 years or pay the loan off.

I was thinking I was gonna get stuck with a higher rate, but I can deal with 5.5% just fine. I swear I filled out 300 pages of crap today alone.

congrats with the house

Well I think it would be like me asking somebody if they live int he Bronx when they say they live in New York. Neither myself nor Millennium live in Birmingham (well at least pelham is directly south of birmingham - attached to it but not actually technically birmingham. I can't speak for Mill's new place but I don't think it's part of birmingham proper anyway).

I steer quite clear of birmingham center. All you get there is crack heads, but there are plenty of nice areas about this city.

Millennium cable service is cut off up our street. The subdivision itself has access to cable and probably dsl for most of it but since we're on a new street they've not gotten to my house yet (they got lazy earlier this year and only did it for about 2/3 the street ignoring our even newer end). No indication whatsoever on when either will be available.

That sucks! Well good luck with the bastards getting their butt into gear. Yeah I'm in Unincorporated Jefferson County...in fact one of the more terrible areas.

Norwood(what I believe you are talking about) is in northern downtown Birmingham and isn't the greatest of areas...
