Just left a bar without paying

A bunch (20 or so) of my co-workers and I went out to a local bar after work to celebrate a birthday. I was there for about 1.5 hours just shooting the bull.. and I bought a coke and this $3 thing of fries for a bunch of us to split. Everyone else was racking up their bar tabs, but I didn't buy anything else. Time came to catch the bus to go home, so I said bye to everyone and walked out the door. Caught the bus, and 45 minutes later as I'm walking in my door, I realized I had forgot to pay for my coke and fries.

I was debating whether or not to go back, but I think it's too far for $5. I ended up texting two of my buddies there asking them to pay and I'd hit them back tomorrow, but one didn't respond, and the other texted back "fuckk irt"... clearly too wasted to really comprehend what I had written.

So yes, I'm a douche bag, and probably one of the co-workers will be stuck with a $5 tab after everyone had paid, and I'll be the brunt of the jokes tomorrow... but lesson learned I suppose. I do feel bad.

There is a guy who hangs out with my friends and I on occasion. He is that guy. Orders a few beers and then doesn't pay. He once paid one of my friends back after 3 weeks then asked if he could borrow 10 to cover his tab. WTF!

Eh thats nothing. My buddy did that once too by mistake. I usually open a tab so they have my CC anyhow.

My signature move is to open a tab and leave the card with the bar overnight after forgetting about it at the end of the night.

I was hanging out at a bar with my gf (at the time). A bunch of her friends came in and ordered a few rounds. We were waiting on a table....when one came available, I closed my tab at the bar and moved to the dining area. The next time I went in there, the bar tender told me that the bitches skipped the check so he put it on my tab. $30. I was pissed just because they are the type of chicks that feel "entitled" anyhow....

I felt like the bartender was out of line for charging me, but now I understand....he's just covering his ass. I probably would have done the same.
