Hopefully he'll do this to an unmarked patrol car and get his upandcommance.

Agreed. If someone tailgates me, I'm usually tempted (although I haven't yet) to give them a little nonverbal communication as well. Flipping someone the bird doesn't justify them cutting you off and slamming on the brakes.

Not I. I have overreacted and been the flipper, glad to hear it ended with only minimal damage. Its a good post to remind others that its not worth it due to crazy fools out there.

didnt know you had an operation to have your balls removed. otherwise i would have suggested you kick his ass. but i guess in light of that fact, you handled the situation ok.

Heh, from one extreme to another.

Im 6' - 4" and 225, so its rare that people actually want to pick a fight. Not going to fight some crazy guy in the middle of an intersection during rush hour though.

I have a question for everyone here:

If a car is close behind you, does it necessarily mean that they are doing it to bother you, or could it mean that thats the way they drive? I don't know, but maybe some people like to drive a bit closer? (not related to the OP)

I don't care what your reason for following right on my ass is because I do not like it and I will take appropriate action to get you off my ass. The action depends upon the situation. Sometimes I hit my brake pedal with a quick jab, the kind where the brake lights come one and the car lunges a little but doesn't really lose any speed. That usually gets their attention. I did this to a dumb fat bitch who took up both front seats of her Hugo one morning in rush hour. She was so close I couldn't see the headlights on her car in my mirror at 55 mph. She freaked, slammed on her brakes, and ended up spinning out into the grass median. I was laughing. Sometimes I simply take my foot of the gas and let my car slowly decelerate to see how long the impatient ass is going to stay behind me.

Ouch, dude. It's a good thing that you didn't cause a big accident with that maneuver. Sheesh.

yeah, but he didn't just flip him off, first he had to "stop short at a light" which i'm sure is only different from slamming on his brakes in the OPs mind.

the OP got pissed because he thought someone was tailgating him, and he may have been, so the OP jams on his brakes at the next light and then gets pissed when the other driver returns the favor. then OP follows the other driver and when confronted further down the road, rolls up his window and heads home to cry about it on atot.

That would have been her problem. There was no one up her ass. I was watching.

Haha, a short stop is very different from slamming on my brakes. We were headed toward a red light traveling no more then 10mph. It wasn't what he expected, im sure.
