Just installed Win2k...

I just formatted my harddrive and installed Win2k... all I can say is: Wow! I have to agree with everyone, win2k is the best OS microsoft ever built! The installation went flawless... win2k recognizes all hardware, I only need to provide drivers for my Linksys NIC... Other than that, win2k automatically configured most other hardware without any problems at all...

There is simply no comparison between win9x and win2k...

Glad you like it. Even though people say it has more bugs than there in my room, I must admit micro$oft did a decent job of hiding them...haa haa.

I'm using it now and I'm never going back to win98 🙂 No if I can unload my piece of crap 50x Acer cdrom that doesn't read some cds that even 2 year old cdroms read 🙂

thats how i felt the first time i installed it, but then........you start to understand where the 69k bugs are at :Q

I'm glad it worked well for you. Others have an unfortunate experienced with Win2K. You must have all of your hardware and software compliant with Win2k.

I downloaded the Microsoft tester and ran it before I installed Win2k... the only thing that said it will not recognize was the modem, which I took out before installing win2k... as for software, I did a complete format and clean install... then re-download win2k versions of the software which I use...

Does anyone else notice the difference in performance? win2k seems to be a lot faster than win98, and I am comparing win2k to a clean install of win98 with no software in it...
