Just installed RAM - beep code error

ok i am posting for a friend so he doesnt have to create an account. he just installed new RAM into his pc which is a dell dimension 4550. this is the ram he installed - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820221005
when he tries to boot up and gets no screen and gets a beep error of 6
anyone know how to fix this?

There are a lot of things to check. Check the beep code on the motherboard manufacturer's site. Check that the modules are seated properly in their sockets. Check that they are in the right slots for DDR (or not). Remove one and see if the error goes away. It's not all that unusual, I suppose, to get a bad stick.
