Just installed new video/nf4 divers and I get a score 600 lower in 3dmark06

I installed the newest drivers for the 7800GTs I'm running in SLI, and also the nf4 drivers for the mobo. After the updates I get 6300 instead of 6900. Isn't this very low for SLI? I get horrible scores in CPU tests too.. barely 1 fps.

I installed the amd/intel x16? version for the nf4 board. Should I download the AMD only version instead?

EDIT: not so horrible score after all... somehow I thought 12000s were the standard. Maybe I was thinking '05.

It was the x1900 wasn't it?

Why would he have a X1900 XTX if he was using an SLI board? That seems like a waste of money. It is a nice card and a nice Mobo though.. just not together lol

Thanks--It's the A8N32-SLi Deluxe.

You're using the chipset right drivers if you downloaded this one: nForce4 AMD/Intel X16

how did you know that? I just tried to use nForce4_amd_6.70_winxp2k_english and It worked but my Nforce LAN was hosed up.

how did you know it was the AMD/Intel X16? im going to DL and install that now.

experiance probably lol

Yeah, it was the X1900XT (referring to another topic of mine). I still can't figure out WHY that card won't work in this mobo though...

Back to topic--In what case would you download the AMD version?

I do have an AMD processor ? Seemed weird that there was an Intel/Amd version.

Well, I went with the amd/intel because after all my mobo is compatible with both... but I've never heard of an AMD only mobo... so yes it's confusing.

Huh? How is your motherboard compatible with Intel proccessors in any way shape or form? It's socket 939..it's AMD only. AMD and Intel have used differant socket types for a very very long time, and aren't compatible..not since Socket 7 could they use the same motherboards..

The X16 driver is made for the SPP 100 chipset that the A8N32-SLI Deluxe uses, it also happens to be the same driver used for the Intel nForce 32 solution, therefore they named it the AMD/Intel X16 chipset driver. 😉

The AMD only version will work but not quite right, as it is only designed for the nForce 4/Ultra/SLI chipsets. His A8N 32-SLI Deluxe has that but also the special SPP100 northbridge in order to support the many PCI-E lanes.

Yeah, the point I was making is that he seemed to think his motherboard was actualy compatible with both AMD and Intel CPU's...had nothing to do with the name of the driver..
