I just installed my Radeon 9700PRO video card last night and about 10 min into the first game I played (SUFFERING), since installing the card, all of a sudden the game starts making these wierd lines a accross the screen and I couldnt even see anything. The pictrues were getting all messed up, its kind of hard of explain but you guys probably know what I am talking about. I ended the game, restarted it and has never happened since. What happened?
 
i'm assuming you bought this card used but it is "new" to you? What you describe seems to be a heat related problem. Make sure the fan spins plenty fast, and maybe leave your case covers off to see if that helps it.
 
Make sure the fan on the card spins. Sometimes the wire for the fan gets caught in the fan and stops it from spinning, thereby overheating your card.
