Just installed IE6.0....runs faster than the last Beta and IE5.5.

And I can actually burn on both at the same time....But I have to drop the Yamaha to 12x or it fails. I am moving the Sony to my other pc, this weekend.
 
Is it just me or is TripleJ and Zwingle out to lunch in this thread? Both talking about CD burning out of the blue?!?

2600 is the final one.....

no problems at all for me....I had a few lockups on some of the recent betas, but this one is great...

Does anyone know if you can import custom looks for IE6? I remember having some cool looking display options that I can't find anywhere anymore.....
 
OK, I just installed it. Yep, its 2600, and everything seems fine so far. Why isn't this on Windows Update yet? Am I the only one that got a Windows File Protection alert in Windows 2000? It said that IE6 setup was trying to replace an important system file, and told me to insert my Windows 2000 CD to replace it. I just cancelled out of it, and let it replace the file.
 
OK, I'm downloading it, but it's only 497KB, am I missing something? I expected it to be many many megabytes in typical MS fashion, or is this just some kind of an updater for 5.5?

If Zwingle's rig is overkill on the CD burners I wonder what you think of mine? I have a Plextor 12/10/32, a TDK 12/10/32, and a new HP9900ci 12/10/32/8xdvd!! I'm not crazy but I got both the Plextor and the TDK at Christmas time for about the price of only one (~$190), and I just got the HP for $17. Believe it or not I actually use all three of these drives. The Plextor to the TDK (or visa vesa) is an unbeatable on the fly copy setup. Oh yeah, and I have a Ricoh 8X (ConeCD comP) in the GF's comp, a Mitsumi 2X (POS) that I use as a CD-Rom drive only, and a HP 4X in one of the GF's kids machines.
 
ronstang... yea it's just an installer. it's something like 11 mb or something. i dunno, cable makes things go faster 🙂
 
It does run a bit faster, and I really like the new cookie filter. No more third-party programs to stay resident.
 
Thanks, I don't like to run any MS .exe until I know what it does. I just re-installed windows and haven't ghosted it yet and I don't want MS hosing itself.
 
no, it works fine for me. sometimes my keyboard acts up and does that though, try hitting the shift buttons a bunch of times... dunno why but it fixes it for me.
 
Its just IE that has the problem. I can right click in anything else in Windows, but now I can't right click anywhere on a webpage in IE
