Installed on brother's puter. Did a file test burn from hd to cdr, it worked fine. But when we try to copy a cd to cdr, the cdrom keeps spitting out the cd. It doesn't proceed to the next step. Any solutions?.......cdrw is master, cdrom is slave on same cable. Both enabled DNA.

don't put them on the SAME CABLE.. 😉 they don't like that for on "on-the-fly" burning...

that should fix the problem...

Why even bother doign on the fly burning? I have the burner, i just use the burner only. I copy the CD then burn! Probably safer/more efficient that way 🙂

like bjc112 said, best to have the drives on different ide channels to try to prevent buffer under runs. your reading drive also has to be able to supply data quickly enough to the burner to keep the buffer filled. if it can't then you'll need to use a lower burning speed or image the data to hdd & burn from there. finally, as that drive doesn't have burnproof, don't be doing intensive cpu tasks when try to burn otherwise you'll probably end up with another coaster!
