just installed a sound card , and its not working properly

Recently i bought a creative sound blaster live 24bit sound card , and i cant get my mic to work no matter what i try. My sound works perfectly its just my mic is not working , any help??? I tried everything i could think of.

make sure the mic volume is up. get latest drivers. make sure its in the right port.

How are you testing it? Are you using a recording program? Is the input on that program set to mic?

Probably plugged into the wrong port or its muted.

Its not muted and its in the right port , trust me! What i do to test my mic is play a game and just loopback my voice so i can hear it , and i dont hear nothing.

Does windows sound recorder get you anything?

Go to sound and device properties and then click on the Voice tab. Check to make sure the recording device is the sound card. There is also a Hardware Test on the same page.

Try YoYO and Jiggz's options. Check the device properties and the windows sound recorder.

... And if all that doesn't work, revert back to you onboard audio (sounds like maybe you have that) and try the mic then. If it doesn't work, bad mic.

If it works, bad SBLive.

My onboard is dead , thats y i got the sound card. I've tried the windows recording thing , and i dont hear nothing. I've also tried another mic , still nothing.
