Just in time for the price cut - PS3 being sold

Bah.... I bought my PS3 for GT5. I bought a Logitech DF GT to go along with it, which I now use on my PC, and the PS3 sits idle. Wife had a couple games for a bit, but I don't even use it for media, nor for blu-ray. I've moved to a mythtv for all media needs, Wii handles netflix streaming without a long bootup (with annoying update reminder) and a realization that the controller needs charging.

So even though I have a number of unplayed games, I just don't see the point. Nothing I've played for PS3 has been much fun (including GTA4, Madden, and a couple rentals). SO off to CL it'll go. Maybe I'm just getting old.

No Xbox360, I think for the first time in my gaming life I'll be without a real console (Wii doesn't really count does it?)

And PC gaming is just so - bleh these days.

I understand what you mean. I got rid of the PS3, since I never played it. I have a couple games on the 360, but I usually play only once or twice a month (in hindsight, it probably would have been better to sell the 360 to save on the gold).

That's too bad that you've gotten burned out. Me, I wish I had a clone or two so we could work through my giant uplayed stack of PC, PS2, PS3 and 360 games a bit faster.

I try to resist Steam sales and console game deals, but the stack grows faster than I can play, and in the next 6 months we'll see Skyrim, The Old Republic, Torchlight 2 and more.

I feel you. As I am getting older, (early 30's) my passion for console gaming and even PC gaming have been dwindling quite a bit. My launch unit PS3 sits there only as blu-ray player, and is rarely used for games.

I get like that. My interest in gaming waxes and wanes. I was given a PS3 as a Christmas present and sold it about a month later because I just didn't have much interest in it. GT5 was a major letdown for me, and I was needing the money more for other things.

I actually think this fall and next year will be very interesting for gaming. I have a hunch we'll be seeing more than one new home console, and then couple that with the Vita which looks great. This fall has quite a few games that could be good to great too.

that's the problem with age and years passing; also in the limited time you have you rather do something else than stay home and play video (console) games. i am a PC gamer but for some time now.....bleah

I just wish I had more time to play games. The biggest problem I run into is starting a game and then not being able to get to it for a few weeks and forgetting everything about how to play it. For example, I started Assassins Creed 2 and played it a couple days in a row. Had a lot going on and came back to it and forgot what I was doing and how to control it. I found that I much prefer games like Tiger Woods Golf where I can quickly play a round or two and come back to the same experience in a week.

On the shelf I have Fallout NV, Assassins Creed 2, God of War 3, Devil May Cry 5, Resistance 2, Fable 3, Metro 2033, Crysis 2, and I think 3 others un-opened plus Madden is in the mail today.

There's still a few PS3 games on the horizon I'm looking forward to enough to keep mine. Uncharted 3 and Twisted Metal is enough for me to keep it. Other than that though it really was kind of a waste of a purchase, especially since I have a good PC now.

Gaming just isn't as fun as it used to be. Everyone takes it so seriously now and the games are releasing with less and less quality with each passing year. It's kind of like where movies were in the 80's where you have a few great movies here and there but mostly it's crap. Same with the games these days. I have to say Socom 4 was about the final straw for me. I still play offline sometimes but I really have no interest in going back online until Battlefield 3, which is basically the gaming industry's last chance to keep me on board honestly. I'm mostly a shooter gamer and they have going down a steep slope since post-CoD4.

I had a Wii, 360, PS3 and PC. I sold the Wii and 360. The wii was just lame, even the kids didn't play it. The 360 lost its exclusives and I wasn't paying for Live ever again. I went PS3 and PC. I find myself playing the PS3 more, just easier. When the PC has universal gamepad support I will use it more, but I cannot game with a mouse and keyboard from my recliner. Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2 both lacked gamepad support, WTF? I ended up buying them both on the PS3 for that reason. Sony has great 1st party devs, best in the business, so I cannot fathom giving up my PS3.

There are always good and fun games to play...especially on the PC.

I've got at least 10 I haven't even touched yet because I'm working on other ones..

do a 'best of year xyz' sweep.

I played the heck out of hitman 1, 2 and 3 recently those were awesome.
