Im sure thats going to be an enormous figure of jobs lost.

I personally know 3 people that work for a company that makes parts for honda that just got notified today that they are losing their jobs.

Employees of a subsidiary company.

The company was informed of Hondas production cuts and the corresponding cuts in jobs because it affects the quantity of parts they need from the subsidiary.

This, already his administration is a complete and utter failure. He's had what almost 72 hours and the economy isn't fixed, complete write-off.

You heard about a supplier - not Honda. Suppliers feel the brunt of a slow down because their business is directly impacted by volume. All manufacturers are slowing down their lines, more non-production days, etc. That means suppliers aren't supplying as many parts.

That means suppliers have to slow down production and along with it lay people off, but in general suppliers get hurt more than the manufacturer because of the slim margins.

Oh and a lot of manufacturers have already let go of all variable workforce so I wouldn't be surprised if honda does the same.

I'm thinking that means 10% of the supplier company and not of Honda's employees. I'd be surprised if that was the case, but these days, who knows.

To clarify, the supplier was told that Honda is laying off 10% of its workforce on monday.
