I don't like them very much - they just sound like a formulated rock version of boy bands.

mmm... Evanescence. Besides the everpopular "Bring Me To Life," "Lies" and "Going Under" are sweet, among others.

I dunno what you're smokin' man. I don't think you'll find a single CD from a flash-in-the-pan band in my CD collection, and Evanescence is in it too. Amy Lee's got an incredible voice, and she's a excellent lyricist. I don't see them going away anytime soon.

imo, her singing is what makes the band. Yes they use tired hard rock riffs, and standard looped beats, but her voice can't be duplicated. She could be any kind of singer she wants to.

Lies rocks. I wish I could get ahold of Origins so I could rip myself a good 224 Kbps AVBR version of it, the 128 Kbps sh!t floating around on Kazaa is bollocks.

Sounds like Linkin Park with a female lead singer.Am I missing something??

yeah, the rest of the CD. if you say that, you have obviously only heard track #2, Bring Me to Life, a good song , but not like any other on the CD

listen to the whole CD/all of the songs, then decide what they are/if you like them

they have sold over 1 million CD in 10 weeks and their sales have grown the last 3 weeks, they are out selling "popular" groups Cd's like Audioslave, White Stripes, The Ataris Coldplay and most of the other CD's that people do like, so who is buying all of those Cd's ?

i don't care who likes them and who doesn't , but it does annoy me when people hear a single song (that happens to be unique, it is the only song of that style/with male vocals) off the CD and think "XYZ Label/Style" without listening to the other ten tracks

and they are really good live, see them if you get a chance

definately not anything special. their best songs are when she just plays the piano and sings by herself with no back up.

I agree. That'd be like listening to "Mama Said" and then calling Metallica a country band, or listening to "Laguna Sunrise" and calling Black Sabbath a folk band.

The beauty of the internet is now, you can download all their songs from the comfort of your home, then make an informed decision before buying a CD.

WHAT A CONCEPT!

What the heck? I just don't understand how people think they are like Linkin Park - can someone enlighten me? I mean, if you are just generalizing both LP and Evanescence as rock bands - maybe but Evanescence doesn't have that rap aspect.

people that have bought the cd would know that. but based on the song they play on the radio people would assume they are just another linkin park because they guy from 12 stones is on their rapping, much like linkin park.

Ah - that makes sense - I'm so sick of "Bring me to Life" that I either 1) change the radio station when its on or 2) skip to the next track of my friend's cd.
