Just had my first major party

We had a fundraiser for the 4th years in my program last Saturday, a kegger thrown by myself and my two roomates. Managed to squeeze 112 people roughly into our very small town house with no major damage. It cost about $1100 to put on and we took in $1900 from cover. 500 ounces of alcohol and 2 kegs gone by 1am.

Cops came at 1:30am and gave us the riot act and threatened a big fine, then one of the people watching the door/taking keys and cover drank herself into oblivion and had to go to the hospital via EMS, idiot.

No problems aside from that though, I won't mention the cleanup..

I'm actually glad we didn't have more alcohol otherwise there would have been a lot of problems, a lot of people were extremely drunk and it would have thrown them over the edge.

So you made $400 - not $1900. Learn first grade math.

Am I missing something? $1900 - $1100 = $800...

And that, my friends, is IRONY...

To be technical, he used "took in" loosely and never said he made a net profit of 1900.

Read the thread title and summary, n00b.

WTF was the cover? 1900/112=...............

this thread is way too funny, i hope i dont get owned just by posting in it by the way things are going here. i think he must have charged a 16.96 cover charge

The girl taking keys drank herself into the hospital.... Going to be a lot of people with hangovers lined up outside the emergency room in the morning looking for their car keys.

The cover was $20, the amount of money I listed wasn't exact, I didn't count the final amount. It was a fundraiser, hence the steep charge, but it was worth it for everyone that came.

You were only being sarcastic if you intended to be an asshole. Sarcasm = irony + bitterness/scorn.
