funny, i've never had a problem with five guys fries. between in n out and five guys, in n out just doesn't compare. nothing beats five guys bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms and a1.

There is something here.

I refuse to acknowledge the existence of fries superior to those at In-n-Out.

they're different... more akin to the russet potato thick cut steak fries you get at the Great Steak Escape or Charlie's. Nothing special if you're from the west coast, but pretty decent for an east coast chain. In N Out is more hit or miss because their fries are pretty unique.

maybe because in-n-out doesn't have a bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms and a1
compare hamburger to hamburger, cheeseburger to cheeseburger, and in-n-out will come out on top (and the 1/2 price is a bonus)

I agree with OP. I had my first five guys burger in Jacksonville on Sunday. Good burger - ordered it with everything but the hot sauce, fries were meh. Not crispy, but plenty of them. I got the cajun fries fwiw.

So for me (overall, including fries) it goes Rally's>In-N-Out>Culver's>Five Guys>Hardee's (Carl's Jr), McDonald's>Jack in the Box>Burger King

I was by the Pitt campus this past Saturday and saw the Five Guys there and decided to stop in. It was a little expensive but the burger was excellent. I also got way more fries than I was expecting which I really shouldn't have finished. The fries seemed to be on par with Penn Station which is good news for me because I really like their fries. It looks like they're going to be opening one a couple of miles from my apartment which is great news.

I can get 2x cheese burgers for that price @ In N Out.

Peanuts for munching while you wait? In a bag or in bowl at the counter? If latter, you just got lupus.

Explain this lupus thing and how one gets it from eating peanuts?

I thought the burger was good, but a little pricey. Next time I'll try the dogs--they split 'em before frying.

I like Five Guys, they have Mushroom Swiss A1 Hot Sauce Cheeseburger 😀

Really? Do you have to request it? It's not on their menu.

Was just thinking the same thing. There's no swiss on the menu... it's just a "cheeseburger" IIRC. Toppings are toppings, there is no cheese there.

I didn't even know they had cajun fries. The regular fries are very good, far, far, far, far, far superior to In n Out and most other chains.

being superior to in n out fries doesnt take much

I have yet to try Five Guys. I finally got to taste In n Out when I was in California for a couple days and the burger I had was good with the animal style sauce, the fries however sucked and I wish I had gotten them plain.
