seems like i've gotten the version of this card that has a heat sink on the APU..is it a new version or old? it does get pretty hot tho.

note : the memory chip says 'hynix'.
 
The X-Fi has more than 23 times more processing power than the Audigy 2.

71% of it goes to resampling input sources to 48KHz.

This is a fact, but most people seem to not believe that (despite what reviewers and even Creative says) as they seem to believe those 10,000 MIPs give them higher framerates. But that's a story for another day. I've had mobs of 14 year old gamers in various forums tell me I'm wrong, even after I point the PDF sheets to them. Ahhh...the power of a mob can make falsehoods into truth.

71%? Its odd that creative has stuck to their model of resampling despite having the opportunity of starting with a new slate with a new dsp.

I didn't say (nor do I know) of any resampling "issues." All I know is the press release SRC percentages. If you have trouble google, PM me.
 
I have an older model of the Fatal1ty version that doesnt come with a heatsink. I think they put it due to a lot of pop and click issues...
You shall experience them soon enough...
