Don't listen to anyone who hasn't listened to it for more than 10 times. They'll say it sounds like sh*t.

It's better than Reload and Load, but not as good as their pre-black album stuff... some songs have a hint of System of a Down because of the time changes they're doing now. And their guitars are detuned... not too bad... although even though the album title is St. Anger, James doesn't sound as angry as he used to... maybe he should start drinking again =)

actually, i just finished listening to the whole thing. for the most part, the songs all sound pretty similar. zero guitar solos. sounds a lot like slipknot with less yelling. good cd, but i'm a little disappointed.

I had it burned yesterday. :p

It's different. I like it for that. You can't compare it to their older stuff though..

I admit I was a little disappointed about the no guitar solo thing. But the band said it just didn't fit the album, and I can agree with that.

well i don't think guitars tuned to c and playing of similar riffs in every song really fits either ;) i'll listen to it again later. but now i think it's nap time.

Shrug. You could say the "similar riff" thing about their previous albums, also.

Each album that they've done has had the "same sound", this album is no different.

Why should anyone waste their time listening to that awful crap 10 times? It's music, for God's sake, not brainwashing. And some of the worst music I've heard in a long time at that. Ranks right down there with Van Halen III.

the whole album felt SO repetitive.. no solos. felt like the music had nothing into it.. just another 'nu-metal' sound.. its what, drop-C? it's too low, its *not* metallica heh.. i'm a black/preblack fan... i liked some songs from load/reload, but with or without solos they were atleast a bit cool, this one is just zzzzzz

They're moving towards "nu-metal" ... there's no guitar solos in "nu-metal"

The DVD is pretty good too... they reherse all the songs from the album in a little studio thing... it's something to look at while you're listening to it. I may encode that into divx and share that with the non a-holes too.

I've heard that the quality of the sound on the DVD when they're performing live is better than how they did it on the cd :)

You heard wrong =) It's Dolby 5.1... but they didn't have all the levels adjusted properly...

*EDIT* Nevermind... Dolby 5.1 wasn't enabled in WinDVD =) Sounds much better now, lol...
