Just got some z560's. Is it worth it to hook them up...

to my 8kha+ using th on-board sound? I don't even think it's a 4 channel card so it would probably sound poor. I ordered a sound card last week and it should be in tomorrow I hope. So does anyone have these hooked up to any board using on-board sound?

I had hooked up to the onboard sound on my old Epox 8KTA3+, the general lousyness of the onboard sound doesn't take too much away from the awesome power of the z560's. M3d does sound kinda weird tho, put it does produce a psuedo 3d effect.

No. Send me a private message and I will provide you the necessary information needed to ship me the speakers. 😀

If you're getting a card in a week, why not hook them up to the mobo now and then when you get your card compare them to the onboard sound. It will let you know how much better the stand alone card is for giving you rich sound.

Would be a waste to have these great speakers and not even try them out. Give it a shot, and when you get the card in, just switch off the on-board sound and you'll really be rolling 🙂

damn, if only these had the front center speaker 🙁. I got Creativelabs/Cambridgesoundworks DTT5.1 spks and dont want to upgrade just for the bass, when i can really use em that high

yeah why not? do you even have to ask us? if you wanted and you bought it, damn it go and install it. sheesh
i just wasted 5 seconds of my life.

No I do't have to ask you.

What I mean is my current soundcard isn't 4 channel. So I would not be able to even hook the rears up, right?

So? you might as well hook up the two speakers that you already can. Plus, on my Cambridge fps2000s, if you only connect the wire for the front speakers, it automatically mirrors the sound to the back. Maybe the z560s do this too. Like everyone else said, it can't exactly hurt, now can it?

Go for it! 😎
