Just got some emails from paypal...

I just got like 3 emails from paypal about 3 payments sent to 3 different people.

I didn't send any payments.

Transaction #1 - Your payment for $650.00 USD to agloenxc@hotmail.com has been sent.

Transaction #2 - Your payment for $350.00 USD to cantal@videotron.ca has been sent.

Transaction $3 -Your payment for $450.00 USD to roxanne_arychuk@yahoo.ca has been sent.

They are all addressed to me (dear my name).

check whatever account it is tied to then. checking and savings accounts, as well as credit cards, if accessible online, should all be able to tell you your real time $. for instance, if looking online at your credit card account, it won't show the most recent transactions, but it will show the real time account numbers, specifically the amount of money you have left before you hit the limit.
if these numbers look off by over $1000, then this whole thing wasn't merely spam.

Uh, you didn't log into your account through a link in the email did you? That might be the phishing part. PP most definitely does show recent activity, as soon as a payment is made it should show up on the main page when you log in. Go to paypal.com, log in, and change your password immediately.

No, I did not log in to my account via any link through my email.

And I just checked my account again and there are the three transactions.

I sent a dispute in. sigh..

Not true, they changed this for some reason. You'll notice a change in your PayPal balance if it was nonzero, but if the funds all come from another source, there is a delay before the transaction details show up.

Damn, that sucks. We used to have one or two Paypal reps who would check out the forums occasionally. I guess that was doing too much customer service, as I haven't seen them around for a long time.

change your password. Make a bookmark for paypal. Only login by using the bookmark.

I've gotten a few of those and some that claim I've been paid $$$ from someone
else. All have the same purpose, get you to a fake site and swipe your account info.
