Office Max is pulling the same kind of crap with me. Sent me a post card saying I had to resubmit, but they have only given me three days to do so. So now my $20 rebate has cost me the initial stamp at $0.37 plus an additional $3.85 to resubmit via priority mail.

Oddly, I have gotten all 6 or so of the Maxtor rebates that I have sent in the last year or so.

I just got an postcard back from OfficeMax stating that my UPC was invalid for my $10 rebate for a Microsoft USB adapter that I bought. I called them up, gave them the reference number on the postcard and told them that the post card stated that the UPC was invalid. They then asked for my name and address and told me that the check was on its way. What really got me was the CSR never stated once that they had made a mistake or asked for any documentation to prove one had been made. This just shows that they were hoping they could keep my rebate money under a false pretext.

bb screwed me over of $20 tdk rebate

i know for sure i sent it prior whatever postmarked deadline it required

sure enough, got a postcard saying my rebate is invalid due to past due deadline yada

ring up and say "I am staying on the line until this is sorted"

then fax it to them while you are on the phone

this should hassle them into givin you your dues

I had an evasive CSR who kept jumping around one of my questions. I repeated it several times and never got an answer. Eventually the CSR hung up on me. Luckily I got his name and id number at the begining of the call. Lets just say when I called back his supervisor immediately put my rebate check in the mail no questions asked.

Stop calling people. Write a 1-page letter, send it certified mail to the corporate office. Someone with power will actually read it. I did this concerning my $50 rebate from AT&T after the store manager basically told me to screw off. In the letter, I documented all visits and conversations. I noted dates, times, and NAMES. I also threatened to contact the Better Business Bureau if the issue was not resolved by this letter. They gave me a $50 credit on my bill to account for the missing $50 rebate, and all was right with the world again 🙂
