Yes, I have copies of everything.
Yes, I have a record of my calls.

But they keep giving me the fsckin run-a-round.

I'm not that desperate for $20, but the fact that they are lying out of their @ss is just absurd! I can't believe they are alowed to get away with this BS.

Details.

Sent in $20 rebate for K-Byte memory through Best Buy.
1. Didn't recieve for a long time, so call in and check. Automated system says its out.
2. Still didn't recieve it so I talk to CSR, says UPC invalid. WTF?! Why did they say it was out? Sent in fax with a copy.
3. Call back later and they say they can't process it!
4. Call Best Buy now (instead of K-Byte) and they monitor the call to K-Byte and keep a record. I THOUGHT all was worked out because the K-Byte CSR told me that she got the fax and all, but the system for some reason is not accepting the VALID UPC. She said so herself, and said she sent it to have it dealed with. Told me to call back in 9 days to check on it.
5. Call now and they said the fax was invalid. WTF?! How can the fax be clear the first time, but the second time it isn't. LYING OUT OF THEIR @SS THATS HOW. They are telling me to send it in AGAIN. TWICE they lied giving me the run around and I'm 100% sure that it ain't going to change because they repeat the same exact BS lines over and over.
6. Best Buy CSR says basically, "Too bad, try again."

I have several claim numbers. Several names. Several dates. Copies of everything. But theres NOTHING that works when the company blatantly lies. I hope there is a hell and these fsckers burn there.

Anbody know the number for Best Buy Corporate?! :|

Complain to your state Attorney General's Office. Enough complaints and AGs can shut down fraudulent rebate scum.

Same experience for me. They just gave me all the sh!t and said they will only paid one not two $30 rebates.
Danm Maxtor rebate.

Eventually, I gave up and lost $30. After that I will never buy anything with two rebates.

I have asked to speak to a supervisor multiple times, and they won't let me. :|
"Sir, I can't do that. You have to fax in a copy of your UPC"
Repeat x infinity.

Then what you do is this- next time you call in, before the conversation gets started, just get wicked pissed. Now ask for their name, service ID number, anything and everything that would identify them to a supervisor. Ask one thing. When the give you an unsatisfacotry answer, yell, scream, kick, bite, and scratch to see a supervisor. Remind them that you have their information. Mention the word 'lawyer' at one point, to or about the manager.

How about going to your local best buy and get your rebate validated there?

I just got a $20 rebate from Kingston memory that I bought at Office Max...I bought the ram last summer and this was the "third" time they'd "sent" it. I had them switch addresses and it was delivered to my dorm (after trying my usual address twice).

Best Buy B&M has no power over rebates. They give you the same generic rebate status number that I have called multiple times. I know because I worked there.

The best I can hope for is to make a scene, and hope the manager gives me a $20 GC to get off his/her back... which I may very well do. (And no I highly doubt the BB I worked at will give it to me because the managers were idiots and I doubt they will even remember me... VERY high turnover rate.)

This is the best way to get their attention. Draft a letter, and send one to the rebate company (by certified mail), BestBuy and the state attorney general. You will see results in no time doing this. Thats what your AG is for, well not exactly, but they are there for you in matters like this. Contacting your AG can also help you in warranty fraud, all that stuff.

There is a Rebate thread in Hot Deals which, on the first page, has several phone numbers to call for Best Buy. Included is the number for customer relations.

On the best Buy site, click on "About Us" at the bottom, then click on management (under press room) , then click on "contact us" on the left. That gives you some public relations honchos to try.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Write a letter to this guy's office. The address is at the bottom left of the page. You might never see your $20 for it, but for $0.37, you can at least add another Best Buy complaint to their list. (Best Buy is a Minnesota-based corporation.)
