the hardest two days ever....

this country is going to hell, the majority of the people who took this test were Arabs and Korean (they were bused/flown in just for the test)

Congratulations! I will most likely be taking the CPA exam within the next couple years, assuming I meet the educational requirements.

Here's hoping you did well.

Why would they need to take the CPA test if they came internationally (my assumption)? Is a CPA license valid around the world as well?

No. Requirements for the CPA license shift from state to state, and if I recall correctly you have to be licensed in each state in which you practice. Similar to a license to practice law.

the fly in for the test, take the test, fly back home, and if they pass, they get a hefty ass raise for having a CPA license.

they had people around the pomona fairgrounds holding up signs like in the airports for tours and stuff....

There are two kinds of CPA licenses. One that is harder and works in all states. And there is another that is easier and is CA only.

This is not technically true. What is easier is the test. CA is about the only state left where you can pass, thus concentrate, on one portion of the test at a time. I have a friend here in Texas who has been flying back and forth to California so he only has to take one portion at a time. Texas, you have to take all 4, pass 2 and get a 50 (if I recall) on the other two to keep the your passing grades. If you only pass one, then you have to retake everything, if you pass 3, but get a 40 on the 4th test, you have to retake everything. And then once you pass all 4, you have to take an Ethics exam, luckily it's take home, open book.

Not exactly, many states have reciprocity laws that allow you to transfer in to their state without taking another test. Just pay a fee and you're on your way.

Now how does this country go to hell because foreigners take the test?

So they know tax and accounting laws better than us so they can take us over economically?

You are such an amateur.

Try sitting for the Bar... 3 days of pain! (At least it is 3 days in Texas.) 😉

For many other countires, passing the test itself gives you status.

There are work experience and other requirments that you need (vary from state to state).

I don't see how foreign demands shows that the USA is going to hell. I think it is the opposite.

When I took the Chartered Accounting exam (UFE) it was 4 days, 4 exams, 100% essay, pass the whole thing at once or try again in one year. I passed 1st try.

Michael (now in the US and working as Controller for a public company with the final 10-Q for Q3 on my desk for final edits. I'm taking a mental break right now)

harumpf, my CPA Test can beat up your Bar Exam! 😀

I find it ironic that immigration is a sign of the country going to hell. I wonder if one native american looked at the other and said the same thing as your forefathers got off the boats.

fvck you prick. i hope you failed. and the arabs and koreans continue take "your" job.

I think the Actuary series of exams are the hardest. Then maybe the Board exams after Med School, but the pass rate of the Boards are really high. Bar exam and CPA exam are around the same. From the CPA lawyers I know, it takes the same study skills to pass either so once you pass one, the experience isn't much different for the other.
