For doing 58 in a 45 zone.

COP: Do you know why I pulled you over?
ME: I was probably going quicker than I should have been
COP: That's right, you were doing 58 in a 45
ME: Can't argue with that
COP: Any points on your license?
ME: Don't think so
COP: Can you hand me you license, registration and insurance card please
Me: Here you go

---WAIT OF 5 MINUTES WHILE HE GOES TO HIS CAR---

COP: I'm gonna let you go with just a warning due to your clean record
ME: Thanks alot officer
COP: Slow it down
 
You mean to say that you were honest, respectful and patient, and you got off with a warning instead of a ticket?
 
That's how I do it, too. The only time that didn't work was when it was a female (I think, it was difficult to tell) state trooper pulled me over. She was so hostile she made my daughter cry (she was 4 at the time). I was only doing 6 mph over the limit, too. :|
 
Wow, you didn't yell at him or talk smart to him or ask, nay, TELL him to handcuff you or anything like that?

And it all went smoothly and you got off with only a warning?

Pff. The same thing happened to me, then after the 5 minute wait, I get slapped with a ticket. For going 80 on a 70 at 12am when there were other cars in front of me going faster. I RESENT YOU!

Maybe it's just me, but female officers seem to be in a perpetually bad mood.

*cries* My record is sh!t.. My first ticket, the officer tacked on an extra 10mph to my speed. I wasn't smart enough to protest it - the $500 court fees possibility scared me out of it.

I've been pulled over maybe 7 times, got tickets 6 of those times, got rid of 3 of those tickets by taking them to court (they really weren't warranted), and paid the other 3 in full. The one warning I got, I was going 77mph in a 70 zone. He told me I was going 81mph even though he probby only got my speed by catching up to me. I argued with him and he finally left me off with a verbal warning.
