Just got pulled over after work

So I just ended my shift, punched out. Walked out to the parking lot, and there was a town cop sitting there on his phone, in his SUV squad car with what looked to me to be about a 19" monitor pulled up from his console. Walked by and nodded to him, and proceeded to get in my car and leave. I was never within about 20' of his vehicle.

So I hop in my car and leave, then notice he was behind me, following me for a while. Then right in the middle of a roundabout, he puts on his lights, so I proceed for a ways to get out of the traffic, and I pull over. After a minute he comes up to me, after I pull out registration ins. dl, etc. I said whats up?

First thing he says is how much have you had to drink? I say well, not a drop, just got off work. He says how long have you been working there, I say more than 2 years, is there a problem? So he says, when you walked by I could detect alcohol on your breath, I have very sensitive olfactory senses. Asked for my dl, I gave it to him, while he was on the radio saying "cancel code 2206" or whatever. Then he says "I can can detect NO alcohol on your breath, so I'm going to let you go now. I say "wow, that is really strange", he hands me his cop card and says have a nice day. Doesn't ask for registration or insurance.

Cliff notes
(1) cop in parking lot watches me get into my car
(2)cop pulls me over and says he smelled alcohol on my breath from 20' away in the parking lot.
(3)cop says he doesn't smell alcohol on my breath now, while I'm in the car
(4)cop says he is going to let me go

If he thought you were drunk, he never should have let you leave the parking lot. Once you started your car, he should have nailed you.

When you nodded at him he probably thought you were hitting on him. The correct move when he pulled you over would be to invite you into your car.

He left you his card? Looks like he's looking for a boyfriend.

You sure he was a cop and not a butt pirate?

In some states they can only pull you over if you are driving on a public road. I can do doughnuts in my front yard with a 40 in hand and as long as I didn't go on a public road, there is nothing they can do to me.

I work at Home Depot, and yes, maybe he was looking for a date. .....ewwww. So you are saying all cops are gay? Should I have told him that?

I was drinking because I just got off work, I don't drink at work

Seriously, what other reason why would he give you his card?

Maybe he meant to say "I have very sensitive mammary glands"?

I just don't know why he pulled me over. It freaked me out, I mean I haven't been pulled over for as far as I can remember, for the past 15 years, and yes at that time there was a good reason for it, got arrested.

Cops need to have probable cause to pull you over, and I do know that. Come on, I mean, I smell alcohol on you from 20'?

Why don't you call him and ask him over a drink? :p

As far as the gay thing, at first I just knew ATOT was giving me a hard time, joking all the time.....however, I won't discount this explanation.

I do know a few fucked up cops to pull over really good looking women, just to gawk at their tits.
