Just got "promoted" in a school magazine that I work for.

I edit all the photos.
I go out into the field to get some of the photos.
There are three photographers but I'm by far the one with the most experience and the best pictures (don't want to toot my own horn but it's true). The editor relies on me a lot.
My photo assignments are given to me by the Editor in Chief.

Director of Photography? Technically this is the Editor in Chief. I just shoot what he assigns me to shoot.

Photo Editor? I take photos too...

Lead Photographer and Photo Editor?

I worked for a startup magazine, and even though I was the only photographer at first, and only had one other one after the first issue, I was still listed as the Senior Photographer. I wouldn't think it meant you were Senior as in been there the longest, i would take it as you have the most experience in photography (which may or may not be true for you...not sure).

either way, Senior or not, i think that is the best combo to go with.

Those are the best jobs...i've had a couple of those.
