Not worth the lifestyle compromise imo. NYC is a pia, and once you done it for a while and had your fun, its time to move on and not look back.

If the increase in pay is enough to cover the cost of a new car for commuting (hybrids are designed for stop and go city traffic) then it's something to consider. Otherwise, stress is bad for your health. The art director won't live forever though.

It's not worth it unless they're willing to pay for relocation + help with the cost of living.

I think it depends how big of a increase is it from your current job. If it's more than double what you're making now, it'll be hard to turn down. Assuming you make more than 30k/year right now.
