No flames from me. I think he's without a doubt the brightest and the most promising politician I've heard in a long, long time. He reminds me of a former president of ours. Many would like to see him run in 2012. Ryan/Bachmann.

LOL... Why not Palin/Bachmann? :awe:

While Bachmann/Palin do hold some very positive conservative values (small government) they are far to politically "loaded" to run for president/vice president.

The GOP needs someone who is not associated with the tea party or the religious right to run and then have those like Bachmann and Palin to steer the tea party into the hands of the GOP.

That plan is a little transparent, isn't it? Oh wait, I forgot how gullible Bachmann/Palin supporters are.

No matter where; of comfort no man speak:
Let's talk of graves, of worms, and epitaphs;
Make dust our paper and with rainy eyes
Write sorrow on the bosom of the earth,
Let's choose executors and talk of wills:
And yet not so, for what can we bequeath
Save our deposed bodies to the ground?
Our lands, our lives and all are Bolingbroke's,
And nothing can we call our own but death
And that small model of the barren earth
Which serves as paste and cover to our bones.
For God's sake, let us sit upon the ground
And tell sad stories of the death of kings;

/in other words, call the wahmbulance....

Sounds like he had a better conversation with you than what the people in my hometown hurl at our representative.

Here is what people usually say to Gene Taylor at town-hall meetings in my hometown:

"YOU ARE NO DEMOCRAT"
"YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN RUNNING AS A DEMOCRAT"
"YOU ARE TOO CONSERVATIVE"
"YOU ARE NOT LIBERAL THEREFORE YOU SHOULD NOT CALL YOURSELF A DEMOCRAT"

Usually something about killing whitey and racism thrown in there as well.

That being said, he is my favorite representative.

I agree, he's without a doubt. Like most self-righteous fools.

he looks and plays the part, but he's literally lost his mind

his recent commentary, ripping the CBO and it's assessment of Obamacare - only to - I kid you not - quote the CBO on how great his plan was - was downright comical

I called his congressional office, basically saying I felt he was the clearest, most concise voice in the Republican party that I heard during the last few months over this healthcare debate. His staffer put me on hold and transferred me. Musta been a slow day...heh

Paul picked up, chatted with him for a minute about whats going on and what they are going to do to try and stop it. I tried to urge him to run in 2012 but he said he has no plans, he said he has young kids that he will focus on, but he will run for reelection in the house in November.

:awe:

The GOP remains a hostage of the religious right. Until/unless that changes, I'm never voting Republican nationally. State/local is a different story, usually.

Pavlovian response.

Mention Bachmann, they move on to Palin, the homosexual humor starts. This is the mentality running the country.

You guys are predictable, I'll give you that.

Who are the Democratic party a hostage of?

Since you already know, the only reason I can think of why you'd ask is to deflect criticism from your own preferred party. Given that this thread is about Paul Ryan, a Republican, it seems to be irrelevant to talk about who holds the Democratic party hostage.

Both parties have constituencies that command who emerges from the primaries as the party's candidate. If candidates don't use language on issues that's consistent with those groups, the groups won't come to the polls on election day. For the Republicans it's the religious right, and for Democrats it's organized labor and liberals.

I asked because I wanted your honest opinion, I was not attempting to deflect anything.

Yeah, me actually making my voice heard makes me a tool.

Arnt you a 9/11 truther, speaking of tools?

I'm not a truther, nor do I believe GWB arranged this massive top secret plan to blow up the towers. I just believe there is more to the story than we have been told.

Verbally masturbating Paul Ryan is making your voice heard?

Oh please. Dont make me dig up your truther threads.

What do you feel I should have done, If I feel someone should run for president? I think telling them directly makes a lot of sense. Go ahead, insult me for it. We all know you're batshit, truther boy.
