Just got new T-bird 1GHZ, question on cooling

I was reading on here that many people recommend removing the heatsink's thermal pad and using Arctic Silver. It looks like my AMD has a pad. Since I've got the retail CPU, should I change it around, or stick with what they gave me? I don't plan on overclocking in the future either.

If you don't plan on overclocking, I would just leave it with the retail thermal pad. It's approved by AMD so there should be no problem as long as the rest of your case is getting good ventilation. Besides, if you change your mind down the road and decide to try overclocking, you can just go out and spend $20-30 on a better heatsink and throw some Artic Silver in there at that time.

There's absolutely no reason to not use the thermal pad and the stock HSF as long as you are not overclocking.
