Just got new scanner (UMAX) not sure if it is working right?

I just got a UMAX Astra NETe3470 scanner at Best Buy and I'm not sure it is working properly. The first few times I tried to scan it was totally white. After unplugging it and plugging it back in, it would scan but it would be in yellow and white. Then I unplugged and replugged it again and it worked perfectly. Does this sound like a software or a hardware problem? I do still have the TWAIN driver from my old Parallel scanner installed. Could that cause a problem? Any ideas? Should I return it and get the slim Cannon? Thanks for any help.

I wish I had a answer for you. I have a Umax 2100U scanner and have the same problem in Win2k. If you can find the culprit to the problem, please PM me. Thanks

I have the problem in ME. I can't get it to work at all in 2K. It tells me it can't copy some files when installing.

/Me thinks me got a lemon!
