I just got x-dreamer case w/ total of 3 fans, msi mobo and 2600 cpu

i figured id buy the gc69 fan from svc (cheapie 5 dollar HSF) and then upgrade cooling solution later....to my surprise....my max load temps is 43 and my normal temp is 38

these are pretty low i think.....do i still need a new heatsink and fan u think? not overclocking yet and dont plan to overclock much

I think you're fine where you are. If you ever get around to OCing, just watch your temps and if they end up too high then spend the money for a new HSF.

Isn't that a bit on the low side especially with stock heatsink and fan...

Your mobo might not be measuring the 'on die' temperature, but the cooler chip temperature instead...

I might get the two mixed up, but what I am trying to say is there two temps, the closer one to the CPU is hotter... your mobo might be measuring the temp further away from the cpu

unless your current cooling is too loud or is making for an unstable system, why waste money fixing a non-problem?
