I been pretty decent at following the post OP decisions, but I was wondering if it is normal to feel some blood in your mouth after rinsing slowly with salt water and drinking water.

Also is using too much salt on the water a bad thing?
I know that you don't want the blood clot to get ruined.

Just want some input.

I had a small amount of blood and constant saliva flow in my mouth for like a week afterwords.

pretty sure i was eating Doritos 6hrs later.. Some people react differently from the procedure.

Yeah people are acting like its a huge deal, but I barely even remember it. Barely affected me. Just don't use straws and take your prescribed medication.

One thing you want to avoid is removing the blood clot, this creates dry sockets which = PAINFUL!

So avoid straws + sucking weenerz.

From what I remember, it took a good 10 days for my mouth to feel normal. You have big open holes in your mouth, they're going to bleed a bit. No worries, take your pain meds and antibiotics if you have them, you'll be fine.

I once had to get surgery at the Dentist to slice the membrane that holds my tounge in my mouth and reattach it in a different position.

They used this long ass syringe to pump my tounge full of some numbing shit. When the surgery was finally done, my tounge had swelled so badly that I couldn't breathe out of my mouth as my tounge filled up my mouth and was sticking out.

God..it was so hard to not look retarded as the Saliva and blood drained out after the surgery.

I bled for at least a day when I had mine pulled. Couldn't do anything but keep packing fresh gauze in and biting down to apply a bit of pressure.

The only people I know who have gotten dry sockets did silly shit like try to smoke cigarettes.

When I got mine removed my sutures opened and food got caught inside. It was a shitty two weeks before I realized it wasn't just a crappy recovery : ( Had symptoms of dry socket (nerve pain shooting up jaw), but luckily just needed to get it cleaned out and use some weird syringe to spray a special mouthwash down the holes for a few weeks.

Nice reference. Crazy movie.

I was gonna make one about that other person on ATOT that was going crazy freaking out about getting a dry socket. I don't even remember who it was though, but he made like 50 threads before and after getting his wisdom teeth out.

lol yeah damn that was annoying- don't remember who it was either but he kept saying how dry socket = worse pain than a gun shot or some crazy shit like that and that was why he was so paranoid.

I don't remember how long it took for mine to heal but it wasn't all that bad- maybe a few days before eating regular food/feeling pretty normal

I'm doing my first upper sometime in January, I'm a little scared shitless because I never did any type of surgery.

Is it normal to get an oral surgeon to do just one? My dentist wants to do it and I got talked to an oral surgeon as well. I asked to be put asleep and get both my uppers done at the same time.

This. If you do only one you won't go back for the other. Mine bled for a week and had to go back to get stitched up. My face looked like I got beatup by a half dozen Samoans too.

Also OP warm wet tea bags help the pain a lot.

I got all 4 done at one time.... they were impacted, told him if he did two he would never see me again. Out of the 4 two were dry sockets but I was a smoker at the time. Not bad about 3 to 5 days of pain and three... four weeks working on the dry sockets if I remember right.

I have one that is somewhat impacted, living off pain until insurance comes into play in January.

They told me its a little cheaper to get both done. My bottoms didn't break thru the gums. The surgeon was focused on upper two. Maybe I'll get it done one clean sweep for the uppers.
