Wow - you really are uninformed. GPA makes even
less of a difference in the real world then when you're in university. I'm not saying GPA makes no difference at all - I'm just saying that if an employer compares someone with a 4.0GPA and no other experiences or accomplishments (this obviously is not you at all), to someone with a 3.0GPA and tons of titles, experiences, etc. - who do you think will get the job?
I have even contacted a professor at the Harvard School of Business (which I was interested in attending, before I started engineering), and I asked him what he suggested that I do to gain entrance to Harvard. He told me NOT to go to Wall Street - because everyone does that. He also said that grades are important, but not as important as LIFE EXPERIENCES. Ironically enough, I've had several interviewers tell me they WON'T hire students with an A+ average because something is obviously lacking in their life elsewhere.
That was just a cheap shot about the CS degree, because I have tons of CS friends who I always get into arguments about the difference between our degrees.
BTW, without a degree I also have a job with one of the top ten largest companies in the world. And I don't have a 4.0 GPA.
