just got my cpu and the stepping is....

Anyone know if its good? I cant install it right now becuz i dont have all my parts, i just got my mobo also. Im just wondering if anyone knows if it is a good overclocking chip hehe

Well, the CCBWE and CCB1E 0550 UPMW/VPMW chips were close to as good as it got. I don't know how things change with the 0551 stepping. Who knows, they may be just as good. If so, you're in for a treat.

Some of these chips are great (I have a 0551 UPMW, and it does 2.6 on 1.392v 12 hours dual Prime95 stable so far), but some of them can't get past 2.5 without doing 1.55v+

O ok, hopefully i will get a good overclock, ill let you guys kno how far i go once i get all my parts by next month.

I have that stepping, doing 280x9= 2.52GHz on default voltage. Personally, I feel no need to go higher then that, I mean I bet I could squeeze more out of it if I up'd my voltage, but I plan on having this chip for awhile (I mean seriously, when is a dual core 1mb cache 2.52GHz going to be a bottle neck?).

Yea, the thing is though, i have a 3700+ with that stepping, i dont kno if u guys knew that or not, forgot to specifically state which cpu, but yea just to clarify.
