Just got my cable modem installed.....anything I need to know.....

Is there any apps or fixes that will make this service faster.
Is there anything I need to know or should expect, that may be different from my regular modem?

If you're using @Home, start researching firewall software now...then get one and use it. @Home is a very unsecure network.

well. right now i'm using both black ice and norton IS 2K. and they seem to be doing the trick.

Sounds like you're ready then...btw, if you are using @Home, be aware that you'll need them uninstalled or at least turned off before we will give you tech support. Yet another unfortunate rule we have to work under.
