I just lost my wife's new 1 year old cat. I'm majorly screwed. I didn't expect the cat to go "voom" when I open the carrier in the backyard in the rain. I think the rain spooked that cat and she took off. :(

It's 3 days now. This one is going to cost me.

Name it Blender.

Seriously though, every cat we've ever picked up, whether from someone else or bought has run away. But every cat that's adopted us has stuck around forever.

i think you can inject em with an id chip at the vet. makes for easy retrieval if lost

The cat is the only one we have that isn't a pure breed, We did spayed it and gave it shots. I just hope she doesn't get hit by a car and will wonder back to the yard one day.

*Going to avoid my wife for a few days*

20/20, hindsight,

oh, and he was a stray, I wasn't attached to him at the time.... too late.... :(

every 30 minutes or so, I go out to the back and call out his name "munchkins, munchi... munchi..."

no, it makes for permanent identification. the cat still has to be found, and on top of that, it has to be brought to a human society or a veterinarian with a chip reader. a good collar and tag are still much better.

Aw, I'm sorry, now you have to fill that void by getting another one from the shelter. Poor kitties...
