Handle it. Make an affectionate, comforting impression. Play with it. Don't bathe it until you've gained it's trust completely...in a few days. Cat's *hate* water (duh).

There are *very* few diseases that can spread from a cat to a human, and most parasites prefer animals to people.

Oh yeah, give it *lots* of tasty treats (*small* chunks of cooked meat).

Check your engine compartment and make sure there aren't other cats in there. Catburger=big mess :Q

feed IAMs kitten food. Water.

Lot of love and affection particularily rubbing your face/chin on kitties face/head - enforces you're "momma"

Take to vet for shots, checkup and lukemia test.

Rather than a full bath, try damp (not drippy) paper towels for a light rubdown. A bath would be too traumatic.

And pics, for crying out loud! :D

Poor little kitty. Looks like it's had a really rough time of things.

Make sure you get it checked by a vet.

That brings back bad memories... my ex girlfriend lived on a farm house, and there were 5 or 6 new kittens, about 8 weeks old, and they liked to sleep in the engine compartment of her car cause there was no wind, and the engine and radiator were nice and warm. We left one day, I was in my car behind her... and about a half mile down the road 3 kittens tumbled out onto the road :( Two must have ran away into the fields and trees, no idea if they survived or not, and another one died instantly... had to pick him up out of the middle of the road. I think he got caught in the belt or something cause he was pretty much skinned from the stomach to his feet but not cut open... very disgusting... she was horrified that she killed a kitten and possibly two others.

nice to know people are still doing good deeds

it looks very small, so you may want to give it a clock to sleep w/, one of the older kind that actually ticks, it will remind it of its mother and let it sleep better

give it a blanket or something else to curl up in

take it to the vet and have it checked and then fixed
