just got me a new wireless intellimouse explorer v2

anyone got any bright ideas as to why my microsoft mouse won't operate under a microsoft OS?

halfway thru the boot process the green light on the reciever unit turns off, at which point i can only assume either the mouse has decided it doesn't want to play with windows, or vice versa.

cheers, but i refuse to believe installing the intellimouse drivers can bork all my usb ports.

somethin wrong with your windows. Do somethin about it, or don't complain.

if it works in Linux it can't be hardware, it's gotta be a driver, or IRQ type conflict, try a different USB slot.

try removing the usb devices from the deivce manager and scan for new hardware to resinstall it.

you could also download new chipset drivers
