Same. I left right after graduating from high school, at the age of 17.5

Been on my own ever since then.

LOL, woot.

I'll change it to a couple of laundry sites that'll show him how to get his whites even whiter.

Well, not kicked out of the house so much as cut off financially. I have to get a job and try and make it on my own now. I have to drop all of my classes and I lose my scholorships, but I only have them for one more year and I'm not graduating in a year. Plus I have to pay for a car/insurance/bills/food/everything. Life sucks. :p

Well.. If it makes you feel any better... That is what it took for me to straighten up.. Worked very well.

Sucked at the time. But now I am glad that my parents were smart enough to do it.

I completely agree. I didn't like it at the time, but kicking me out was the best thing my parents could have done for me.

Have you considered a program like CityYear? You work doing something rnadom for a year or more and they subisidze your housing and provide you with a monthly income. Popular with people your age living on their own.
http://www.cityyear.org/

This a good short term alternative to your typical gas station job, and may put you in good standing with either your parents or a college so that you can renroll in classes somewhere later on

If you're failing your classes, what have you been up to? Do you currently have a job?

Best thing you can do is stay in school (like others have said). I took out school loans, worked my tail off to pay for additional 'stuff', and made it through school just fine (although I don't think I slept for about 4 years) . Trust me, like Schrodinger said, it's totally worth it (and totally do-able).

Welcome to our nightmare that is "THE REAL WORLD" aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!:D

Oh, dear Booster, Booster! You need to boost your energy and motivation level, honey! Come on, get going! Maybe you should change your nick back to Booster as the first step?

Hopefully, this will act as an awakening and bring you out of your shell. Good luck, really!

hmmm so this program is basically for "troubled kids", right?

would backfire if he meets this other troubled kids, and gets involved in drugs or gangs..

Non-troubled kids also do these programs, such as when taking a year off between highschool and college. There are many programs like this, City Year is one of the better known ones. Search around if it isn't an ideal fit.

Good.

I think making your own way is the way it should be.

I was 17 when i moved out on my own...yeah, it was rough, but i don't regret it at all.

Independance > being dependant on parents.

I don't quite follow what this had to do with my post?

That being said, i don't think money means much.
I lived off minimum wage for a long time, but i worked my ass off, & now i have a couple computers...yeah i cannot afford a car or house or much...but money is never something that's made me happy...

If you want to make QUICK cooperative CASH, join QUIXTAR.

www.quixtar.com

My friends joined too and they tell me everyday that they make hundreds in a day for just a little bit of time spent on gathering new Independent Business Owners. (IBOs)

I was reluctant at first but after just a few months, I am a millionaire! WOW!

you really should've been working all along. If your parents see that you're trying, they may not be so quick to kick you out.

I'm curious.... What's your GPA? My parents were pretty tough about making me pay for my own stuff, but even they would have never cut me off unless I doing lousy in college and wasn't going to get a good job outta it.
