mayne you are short on info...

Uhhhh... that's planned. It's play B from the troll playbook. Give almost no info, then confusing info, then contradictory info, etc. Par for the course.

Next he'll sign the documents, but not read them, and he'll go through the exact same play with the documents that he signed.

And in the end, we're all left fully understanding that he's probably lieing from the start.

Fill the drains with cat litter and go move to a better neighbourhood while you can. Though on serious note check with the housing laws, if you never got a notice they might be in the wrong. The rules tend to be on the tenant side more than landlord.

PM Trident, I hear he's looking for a room mate since he lost another job. 😛 But if that place is really that much of a shit hole it might be a good time to look into a better place anyway.

That's unpossible. He just bought a garbage can that is the absolutely BOMB.

Sounds like the Landlord wants to have a responsible tenant who pays the rent on time........does that sound like Mayne.....hmmmmm

she is bringing papers by tonight to sign agreeing I will be moving out in 2 months. I think i`m getting evicted. Oh well, atleast hopefully my new place will have closets and some storage unlike this shithole.

Oh, I see why this information was not part of your OP.

In quebec anyways the landlord can ask you to move out of your apartment if they or one of their close family are moving in, you get a few months notice.

What new place, have you started looking?

Maybe bunk in with relatives; your sister may have a spare bunk available :\

Contradictory info is the best part! Especially when it completely ignores the legitimate advice people are posting. And that's why I love Mayne threads.

Mayne, have you tried making a pass at her? If she rebuffs, file a sexual harassment lawsuit.

Just so everyone is clear on this.

This is my current living situation. I live with my younger sister and her son who is 15. We currently have another nephew who is 31 and currently under house arrest and of course myself. My other sister is doing 27 months in kitchener ontario....thats a whole different story.

I`m just going to have to find something that will fit us all in. This is going to be the hardest part....really bummed out by this whole situation. But what can you do, eh.

consider yourself lucky that it's only a termination of the lease and not an eviction... having a previous eviction on your record can make it much harder to find a new place.

I hear ya. At least my old landlord will give me a good recommendation and I have good job references. But damn the rent was so good here. 🙁

Thank you. I love how everybody often applies local US municipality laws to Canukistan.

Plus, if I remember correctly even in the US new owners of "rental" units often have the ability to immediately terminate any existing leases if said owner is planning on occupying said dwelling as their primary residence upon closing or shortly thereafter in many municipalities. At least that was the case around here when I was looking at buying houses that were existing rentals.
