my wife and i waited 8 months before getting engaged, were engaged for 10 months, but were best friends for 5 years before dating.

Ya i took pics. I had friends of mine come in while we were at a nice dinner and line the steps to our apartment with candles and rose petals, then there were rose petals leading into our living room where there was a big heart made out of candles with rose petals in the middle where i dropped to the knee and popped the question.

wow, 5 years
i've been with my GF somewhere around a year now, ( a little less ) and I think if things keep going well, in another year I could be engaged....

Cause he was waiting for the right time. I waited since 96 and I just got engaged myself. Doesnt mean anything.

It's a good think you waited 5 years. Too many people settle in to something before they really know the other person and help bump the divorce rate past the 50% barrier
