I guess I didnt find the story really plausible

and its just ludicrous at the end

Agreed, Van Wyk IS hot, Julie Stiles reminds me of Lindsay Davenport (flatfaced like a bulldog) and that is NOT hot. She can be cute, but not hot!

You're not supposed to think of it as a movie, but rather, as a play. It's an adaptation of Shakespear's Othello.. From that point of view, it's quite good, but if you look at it as a regular movie, it's just ok.

Btw it wasn't in theaters because it was going to get released around the time of the columbine shoots. Bad times IMHO.
