WOW, the graphics are AMAZING. Some of the scenes looked like they were actually filmed rather than using computer generated. I'm sure alot of you watch movies on VCDs and such but this is one movie you definately have to see in the theatre. A VCD could never do this justice. Everyone who went to the Wired prescreening post your thoughts!

I enjoyed the movie..I dont want to say anything as to give away any of the story line + the experience of not knowing what is happening/to expect :) People seem to get mad when there are any sort of spoilers!

saw it in dallas/plano.

the movie was MUCH better than i had expected. i got quite envolved in the story even though i had a hard time connecting to the human characters.

why such a problem with the humans? it was the close-ups. while the scenes where beautifull and detailed, and the general movement quite good, i found the close-ups to be too plastic-ish to be real. the close-ups where SO detailed, yet SO fake. it just bugs me. i have a much easier time connecting to a less detailed animated character. i don't really know why. i guess when the animation goes for reality and falls short i have a hard time suspending my disbelief.

but don't get me wrong. i thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and i just might pay to see it again! i LOVED the phantoms. wonderfully creepy and suspensefull. oh, sure, you could see right threw some of the plot elements, but that never once got in the way. untill the end, when i was wrong and what i thought i saw threw i did not.

as with many movies i wish it would have ended differently, but have no problems with the way they ended it.

in short....go see this movie. i give it a B+

EDIT:a)spelling
b)HATED her hair.
c)I CAN'T FVCKING WAIT FOR SPIDERMAN!

Just got back from watching the movie Los Angeles time. FF:TSW was fantastic, CG was awesome, story followed the traditional epic saga style of the FF series, overall the movie was an A+ in my book.

The one only minor complaint I had was their sync of the mouth movements. could of done better in certain scenes but nonetheless was not distracting.

troglodytis:
hey i also saw it in Plano..@Cinemark ya?...

i thought the flick was ok, duno if i'd pay to see it a second time...but that's just my opinion, i'm sure FF fans would really enjoy it, tho i've heard it has nothin to do with the game (i don't follow the game at all so i wouldn't know). i was more amazed with the graphics and animation than the storyline...and it did have it share of humerous comments from well known actor/actress' voices...i recognized Steve Buscemi's voice right away...that dude cracks me up all the time in whatever movie he's in...

and yea!...that spiderman preview looks really cool...can't wait to check that out...

didn't know what the deal was with the staff sectioning off a part of the theater, reserved seating i assume...

No spoilers on a movie that 90% of people can't possibly have had a chance to see yet. Kinda sucks to read a thread that's not started out with spoilers and then has them appear.

I'm going this saturday. I originally planned not to, but some of my friends convinced me to give it a try.

well roper and ebert already gave it two thumbs up, so the plot can't be that bad:p As for vcd/divx...gah, thats fine for comedys and such, but comparing film resolution to telesync cr@p isn't even funny:)

the movies budget was 137mil according to imdb.com... i didin't know it was that expensive.. wow:)

i saw FF in San francisco. Overall i thought the movie was pretty damn good. The plot was anime-ish in that it's a bit spiritual and "deeper" than what you'd expect from a typical sci-fi flick. There was an evil guy who i thought was a bit over the top though.

The CG was fan-fuggin-tastic!! Most everything is so incredibly detailed and realistic, you'll swear it's real. The outdoor scenes were breathtaking. And Dr. Sid's character was especially well rendered. I mean you can even see the vein that's sticking out of his balding head. and the individual eyelashes of dr. ross (the main girl) were clearly visible in a close up shot. It was damn nice.
the smoke effects they had were really cool too
my jaw was on the floor through most of the movie, it was so pretty :)

as mentioned before, the mouth movements during dialog were a little distracting. somehow they didn't open their mouths naturally. Like they only opened the mouth, and the jaw didn't seem to go with it. It just didn't quite work. And some of the characters did seem a little bit plastic-like.

see this movie if only for the graphics (i did) you won't leave unimpressed.

was the guy supposed to look like Ben Afflack? Because that was odd, to hear Baldwin's voice come out of Aflack's mouth.

glad you guys/gals all liked the movie, i thought it was terrible (graphics aside).

man, I don't go to movies for the GODD*MN graphics! It's the gameplay that counts.

This CGI Final Fantasy is just a tech demo basically, we are NOT gonna see CGI actors take over.

LOL...at first, I thought it was Ben Affleck then over the course of the movie, the dude reminded me of Pete from Two Guys and A Girl sitcom.

I think they spent way too much time trying to impress us with colorful CGI explosions and not enough on the story/characters. Even the animation wasn't too impressive, I think the Diablo II movies looked better and more organic (for lack of a better word), especially on the DVD you get with the Limited Edition version. It had it's moments though, I thought the elder Dr. looked very realistic. I kept picturing a Gelfling from Dark Crystal everytime they panned up close to the heroine's face.
