Schneiderguy must have heard that Montana is a place where men are men...and the sheep are nervous...so he went to visit the sheep.

I didn't see any sheep :|

I saw some goats though 😛

The big delusion of our OP is that he failed to visit Montana during hunting season.

When all kinds of delusional out of State hunters spend big bucks showering Montana with money for big game permits, descend on Montana in droves, and in the process fuck up all of Montana up during the hunting season. Smart Montana residents leave state, and don't come back until all the out of State hunters are gone. And then they can have some peace to enjoy their own wildlife, until hunting season rolls around again.

Montana has reached 1 million people in population, it's getting crowed up there. One of the last frontier in the lower 48 states.

So, you stay in-state.

Because the population is so sparce, you are likely to be only hurting yourself if you crash.

Montana is very anti-Federalis. They even had a no daytime speed limit for a couple years, until the feds threatened to take away the highway grants.

Awesome state.

Terchnically, their speed laws were "reasonable and prudent" during daylight hours. That was the law for many decades...then, after the Arab Oil Embargo, they succumbed to pressure to post the 55 mph limit...but also, instead of speeding tickets, the Montana State Police were empowered to issue "energy wasting citation" that were $15 IIRC...

Then, the laws changed and speed limits were allowed to go back up...

From December 8, 1995 to May 28, 1999 Montana's daytime automobile speed limits were "reasonable and prudent", according to interpretation by Highway Patrol officers. Fines were increased and motorists were advised to drive carefully according to existing weather and road conditions. American speed enthusiasts were delighted and the state's Interstate highways got a reputation as the Montanabahn. Congress was not amused, and neither were many Montana residents. With a little help in potential Federal funding restrictions, speed limits were restored. Montana's maximum speed limit is now 75 MPH on the Interstates
