Ehhh, not a fan of Tarentino's work. I hated Pulp Fiction

Lies. No one hates Pulp Fiction. 😛

Didn't like it either.

Were you that kid who was born without a brain, back in 1980 something, but managed to defy all science, and live?
He's more of a Sound of Music/Moulin Rouge kind of Fella.

I just got back from watching it. Both features were awesome.

I think that it is a little unfair when calling QT's film slow after Planet Terror, which was incredibly fast paced and hilarious.

Death Proof has the most satisfying ending that I've seen in a long time.

The audience in the theatre I was at laughed en masse at Death Proof's ending, then proceeded to applaud.

Now wait a minute...I love Moulin Rouge but I also love Pulp Fiction.

When I first saw the trailers for Grindhouse I thought it looked like it would be an absolute blast. I really want to go see these movies.

Rodriguez's feature was amazing throughout. Tarantino's was uneven at best, but the longshot for the diner conversation and the car chase redeemed it in full. Just...damn. Part of the fun is seeing it in a packed theater, so go watch it this weekend. I saw it in one of the first showings in the US (10PM Thursday) and it was packed and the audience was loving it and so was I.

Rodriguez: 11/10
Tarantino: 7.5/10

Planet terror was awesome. The trailers were great.

But death proof was totally retarded. It would have been entertaining if it was a half hour long. Sorry, but its no pulp fiction or kill bill. It was just a mess. Was there no voice of reason anywhere in that production to tell tarantino he might want to actually EDIT the movie?

Planet Terror:
I could even tell you how long it was - it was entertaining for every minute. It was so over the top...definitely the most fun I've had in a movie in a while.

Death Proof:
30 mins of girls going blah blah blah
2 minutes of action
30 more minutes of girls going blah blah blah
20 minutes of action that would have been better condensed into 5-10

I'm so confused, if you go back from Grindhouse, why is everyone talking about "Planet Terror" and "Death Proof?"

Because its two completely different movies.

ya i walked out at some parts of death proof to use the john and get some food.

the last ten minutes were awesome thought.

Just got back. Whole production gets a 10/10 which means I'll buy it and any further special editions with the gimmicks that come out. I preferred Tarentino's feature a little. So effing badass.

Awesome movie. 🙂

Overall I liked Planet Terror better just because the first part of Death Proof seemed far too slow and unnecessary to me. The ending was great though.

Too bad there aren't more Tarantino's in the world. Hollywood ran out of ideas long, long ago.

Tarantino isn't really doing anything new

I still want to see it though. I love both Rodriguez's and Tarantino's work.

If they had switched the order of the movies, might have worked better, who knows? For those of you who didnt like Tarantino's flick...Zoe is a real stunt woman playing herself. That sequence with her was ridiculous and took about 3 weeks to shoot.

He was intelligently designed that way.

Exactly how I felt. Waaaay too much talking in Death Proof. It wasn't like the talking in his other movies that you could actually follow, it was just endless blabber between girls that really led no where. The action sequences were good though, the talking just ruined it. They could've condensed the talking quite a bit and maybe added another set of girls he went after.

I loved Planet Terror though. Went from action to funny and back all the time, had my attention the entire time.

Edit: To be fair Kurt Russel was really good in Death Proof. Had me cracking up quite a bit.
