Just got an iphone

I just got an iPhone and would like to know what cool stuff I can do with it. Is it possible to watch tv or is there a flash player available? I've never kept up with iPhone so I'm up for any cool ideas. I figured this was more off topic than apple stuff and I wouldn't get any responses in there.

no flash support is available for the iphone.

check out the app store and see whats free/cheap and sounds interesting.

This belongs in the Apple threads. There is plenty of info there, read through a few and check out Apple's website. App store purchases go to your iTunes account, btw. I don't pay for apps, I just get free ones. You can watch videos from youtube (never tried Hulu yet) and iTunes. The phone comes pretty bare bones so that you can (have to) customize it with apps.

I'm too lazy to look up outdated info and I didn't post in apple because there is probaly 2-3 guys that go to that section and I don't want to hear the apple bs.

No Flash. Get Air Video to stream your movie collection wirelessly:

best thing you can do is "Jailbreak" it.
I have a friend that works at an Apple store and he told me that 90% of the people that work there have jailbroken theirs as well.

Use your iphone to post in a different forum. It isn't "some things apple" and its not "Gadgets gear and some phones"

You don't get much from doing that...just some theme changes, and some lame apps that you might as well get from the app store.

When you buy an app from the app store, you tie it to your itunes account, and it charges whatever CC you have tied to it.

Try to blend it.

I kind of hate mine, way to overhyped, and so slow it bothers the hell out of me.

I don't think AT&T's network can handle it... I kinda hope apple opens up after their exclusivity deal expires.

Dude.. you have no idea. Jailbreaking is a lot more than "just some theme changes and some lame apps..."

If it were so lame, then no one would do it.

1: Go to a coffee shop
2: Set all your apple crap on the table
3: Look smug while doing nothing of value
4: Teh Win

A lot of people post there and you'll get a lot better responses than you have so far. Plus, you won't get any thread crapping.

For someone who isn't a megadork who wants to run a server on his phone or ssh into nerdboxes to enter commandline crap, what else does jailbreaking give you?

You can do all kinds of stuff when you jailbreak. Tethering, SNES roms, torrenting and more..

Now that sounds like something reasonable.

Wait a sec, you can't tether with an iPhone? WTF?

SNES roms i can kinda get, too bad the touch screen is likely crap for a decent experience. . . Torrenting? On a phone? That sounds just dumb.
